Get to Know FocusMD

We’ve gathered and answered many of the common questions we hear from patients to make it easier for you to understand how FocusMD works and what to expect from your personalized care. If there’s something we haven’t covered, our team is always happy to help.

  • How is Focus MD different from other clinics?

Unlike traditional healthcare, we don’t just treat symptoms — we uncover root causes. Every member starts with advanced diagnostics, including labs, genetics, organ age analysis, and microplastics testing. We are also the only clinic in Utah offering Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) outside of a hospital setting, making us uniquely positioned to deliver cutting-edge care.

  • What is included in a Focus MD membership?

Your membership includes comprehensive baseline testing, personalized health optimization plans, concierge-level access to our providers, quarterly reviews, and access to advanced therapies such as hormone optimization, peptide therapy, regenerative medicine, and VIP wellness treatments (IV therapy, hyperbaric, PEMF, EWOT, etc.).

  • Do I need a baseline assessment to buy a membership?

Yes. Every Focus MD membership begins with a baseline assessment. This is the best way for us to understand your current health, identify risks, and determine exactly what you may or may not need. It ensures your care plan is precise, personalized, and designed to deliver measurable results.

  • Can I use my FSA or HSA benefits?

Yes. You can use FSA or HSA funds toward certain prescriptions, supplements, and your Focus MD membership.

  • Do you see pediatric patients?

No. At this time, Focus MD only treats patients over the age of 18.

  • Do I have to be local to join?

No. While our clinic is based in Utah, many of our services are available virtually. We offer telehealth visits, lab coordination nationwide, and custom protocols that can be followed remotely. Some therapies (such as TPE, hyperbaric oxygen, and IV therapy) are delivered in-clinic only.

  • What if I already have blood labs?

No problem. If your labs were completed within the last 90 days, we can use those results as part of your baseline testing. If not, we’ll arrange for updated labs to ensure accuracy.

  • Is this covered by insurance?

Focus MD is a concierge, membership-based practice. We do not bill insurance. This allows us to focus on prevention, precision, and optimization rather than what insurance codes dictate. Some lab work and prescriptions may be eligible for reimbursement through your insurance or HSA/FSA benefits.

  • Can I pay monthly or annually?

Yes. Memberships can be paid annually at a discounted rate or month-to-month for flexibility.

  • Do you offer family memberships?

Yes, we provide packages for couples and families — however, each member must be 18 or older.

  • What happens after my baseline testing?

Once your testing is complete, you’ll meet with Dr. Daniel Hoopes, MD or Nikkee, NP to review results. From there, we’ll design your personalized health optimization plan — covering hormones, nutrition, peptides, regenerative therapies, and lifestyle strategies.

  • What if I already have a doctor?

That’s no problem. We encourage collaboration. Many of our patients continue to see their primary care physician or specialists, while working with Focus MD for advanced diagnostics, preventive strategies, and optimization.

  • Who is the membership for?

Our members are executives, entrepreneurs, athletes, and families who want proactive, high-level healthcare. If you value prevention, precision, and performance — rather than waiting for illness — Focus MD is built for you.
